Renault to launch EVs in India by 2014
French auto major Renault today said it was looking at launching zero emission electric vehicles (EVs) in India by the middle of this decade. The company, which today unveiled its city two-seater ‘Twizy’ in the country, also plans to produce up to 500,000 units of EVs globally by 2014.

Recovery in Asian markets

After opening weak, the Asian markets have rebounded into the green. The Hang Seng is now up 19 points at 21,9212. The Nikkei is trading flat at 10,105. The Shanghai Composite is up 61 points at 3,308. US markets end in the green The Taiwan Weighted has gained 24 points to 7,819, Seoul Composite has added 7 points at 1,664 and the Straits Times has put on 9 points at 2,809. _______________________________________________________ (Updated at 0818 am) Asian markets are in the red this morning. The Hang Seng has slumped 309 points (1.5%) to 21,592. The Nikkei has dropped 77 points to 10,031. The Shanghai Composite has shed 41 points (1.2%) at 3,206. The Taiwan Weighted has dropped 16 points to 7,779. The Seoul Composite and the Straits Times are flat at 1,647 and 2,795, respectively.
