Several Pakistani leaders have accused India of fomenting unrest in Balochistan and the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan, but the government has not provided any evidence to substantiate these claims. India has dismissed Pakistan"s charges. Malik claimed India is supporting insurgency in Balochistan and trying to turn the Baloch people against their own country. The government will frustrate all such plans by paying full attention to the problems of Balochistan, he said. He described Baloch Republican Party chief Brahamdagh Bugti, a nationalist leader currently living outside Pakistan, as his "younger brother" and said efforts are being made for reconciliation with him. The government wants reconciliation with all dissident Baloch leaders, he said. "We will try to convince all disillusioned forces in Balochistan. Justice will be done with everyone affected in the past. All reservations of the Baloch people will be addressed through democratic means," Malik said.
