M&M utility vehicle sales grow 32.11% in Oct

Its total domestic sales also grew by 23.31 per cent at 24,538 units during the month, as compared to 19,899 units during the same month of last year, M&M said in a statement. The company"s exports jumped over two fold at 882 units in October from 383 units during the same month in 2008. Three-wheeler sales grew 14.11 per cent at 4,886 units compared with 4,282 units in the corresponding period last year, it said. The sales of light commercial vehicles increased to 841 units in October 2009 from 615 units in the same month last year, up 36.75 per cent, the statement said. Mahindra-Renault"s sedan "Logan", however, recorded 62.42 per cent decrease in sales at 401 units in October this year compared with 1,067 units in the same month last year. M&M also reported a jump of 35.54 per cent in cumulative sales of UVs during the first seven months of the fiscal at 1,22,410 units, as against 90,316 units during the same period of last fiscal. Its cumulative exports during the April-October period, however, declined by 40.27 per cent at 3,889 units as against 6,511 units during the corresponding period of last year.
