Ford India posts 3% sales growth in 2009

Sales growth, on a year-on-year basis in the third and fourth quarters stood up by 23 and 22 per cent respectively. The company sold 8,025 units in Q3 and 7,065 units in Q4 of last year. "We will see our business growing significantly in this dynamic market with our new Ford Figo to be launched in early 2010," Ford India Executive Director Marketing (Sales & Service) Nigel Wark said. During the year, sales growth of Ford"s popular brand Ikon registered a jump of 196 per cent, as compared to a year back, Wark said. Ford India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company and makes three models--Ikon, Endeavour and the Fiesta.
