Airtel slashes roaming rates by 60%
Mobile services provider, Bharti Airtel, reduced its roaming rates by nearly 60 per cent. Customers who enroll into the Airtel Turbo plan will now be charged at 60 paise per minute for all incoming calls while on roaming. The new plan is available for both existing and new customers effective Friday.

Arvin Meritor opens India tech centre; to hire 100 engineers

"Growth in Asia Pacific, particularly India and China, is a key component of our business strategy. To support the growth we have planned in this region, we identified the need to increase the size of our engineering footprint in India," Arvin Meritor Vice-President and MD (Asia Pacific) Tim Bowes said. The new 16,000 sq ft centre would help the company to provide advanced product solutions for transport, military and industrial applications, he said. The Bangalore centre would also support the company"s engineering needs in other parts of the globe including North America, South America and Europe. Approximately 100 employees would be recruited for the new facility, the company added. Arvin Meritor has been present in the Indian market for last 10 years, basically involved in distribution of components. Its clients in India include Bharat Forge, the Kalyani Group and Caterpillar.
